Litchfield: Star Party

Description: The Litchfield Hills Amateur Astronomy Club continues its 2019 series of star parties with a talk on "Supernoval." Where did iron in our blood come from" From the Earth, of course. But where did the Earth get it? The surprising answer is that nearly all the elements were formed in stars. Iron was formed in the core of a massive star and was spread into space when that star exploded in a supernova. After the talk, weather permitting, there will be planet and star gazing at the observatory. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
