Litchfield: Free Community Day

Description: Come experience Litchfield’s newest historically-inspired green space during our first annual Community Day at the Tapping Reeve Meadow. Families of all ages can create garden-inspired artwork, learn from demonstrations, and take part in fun games and challenges.

The Litchfield Historical Society is opening a new, interpretive landscape at the Tapping Reeve House & Litchfield Law School. The new community open space, the Tapping Reeve Meadow, features elements of the historic landscape found in Litchfield between the 18th and 20th centuries, and includes a children’s garden, education pavilion, small orchard, a chestnut grove, a wet meadow, stone walls, and traditional fencing. The Tapping Reeve Meadow is designed to provide the community and visitors with opportunities for learning, relaxation, and reflection.
