Description:
Pilobolus, the U.S. Coast Guard Band, Afro Bop Alliance and many more local, regional and national performers bring the Shoreline alive for four days of FREE music, dance, drama, storytelling, poetry, hands-on music making and more—on and around the historic downtown Guilford Green. There will be 72 live shows in 12 venues, plus workshops for the public, master classes for Guilford High School students and dance/movement classes for seniors and people who ambluate with crutches and wheelchairs. A big top/main-stage tent on the Green will serve as the center of gravity, with performances taking place simultaneously throughout town: in churches, shops, restaurants, schools, historic homes, museums and community buildings. Whatever your interest, there's likely to be something for you: classical, chamber, choral music and opera; straight-ahead, fusion, Latin, big band and swing jazz; blues, folk, bluegrass, country, rock and klezmer music. Ballet and contemporary dance. Dramatic theater, Broadway, cabaret, poetry, literary readings and storytelling. Circus acts and buskers. Hands-on drumming, music-making and improvisational theatre. Events for kids.
