  New Haven: International Festival of Arts and Ideas
Description:
A 15-day extravaganza of performing arts, lectures, and conversations that takes over theaters and open spaces in New Haven each June. More than 80% of festival events are completely free.

10:00am [10:00am] Branford: Mini-Maker Table
Description:
Join us every Friday and Saturday for a mini-maker project from our MakerLab! Every month we will feature a quick project or new piece of equipment to mess around with. The results may have you leaving with something to physically take home OR just the satisfaction that you were able to create a circuit, power on an Arduino or thread a sewing machine. The projects are easy, meant for all ages and 100% drop-in. It is just up to you to find out which floor we are featuring the project on and drop on by. Registration for this table is not required – just come ready to tinker, play and create!

[11:00am] Stonington: NESS Fest
Description:
This festive event features fun activities including sailing, boat tours, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding. NESS Fest participants are welcome to enjoy ocean adventure activities, tour the facilities, meet the staff, and learn more about NESS's summer programs. No prior experience in water sports is necessary and participants will be supervised by trained and experienced NESS staff members. The Haven Brothers Mobile, LLC food truck from Providence will be on-site with food available for purchase. Matt Beaudoin from Mystic Knotwork will be at the event teaching attendees how to tie either a survival bracelet for their wrists or a small lanyard for their boat shackles. Supplies will be provided at no cost, though a donation to NESS would be appreciated. Mystic Knotwork is a 61-year-old family operation in Mystic most famous for their sailor bracelets, though they also make decorative knots for homes, weddings, and events. NESS Fest participants are welcome to enjoy ocean adventure activities, tour the facilities, meet the staff, and learn more about NESS's summer programs. No prior experience in water sports is necessary and participants will be supervised by trained and experienced NESS staff members.

[1:00pm] Orange: The Yo-Yo Guy
Description:
Summer reading kicks off with world yo-yo champion John Higby and his high energy comedy yo-yo show. This interactive performance includes amazing feats with giant yo-yos, unicycling, and big laughs. Pre-register: 203-891-2170
