Stamford: HarborFest
- Description:
- Visitors stroll the HarborFest boardwalk throughout the day, visiting working boats on the docks, trying their hand at scuba diving, fly casting and paddle boarding, learning about Long Island Sound and Stamford Harbor and visiting with the many vendors in the HarborFest Village. Several thousand more people converge on the Harbor in the evening to celebrate “HarborFest after dark” with a spectacular fireworks display.

[10:00am] Branford: Mini-Maker Table
- Description:
- Join us every Friday and Saturday for a mini-maker project from our MakerLab! Every month we will feature a quick project or new piece of equipment to mess around with. The results may have you leaving with something to physically take home OR just the satisfaction that you were able to create a circuit, power on an Arduino or thread a sewing machine. The projects are easy, meant for all ages and 100% drop-in. It is just up to you to find out which floor we are featuring the project on and drop on by.
Registration for this table is not required – just come ready to tinker, play and create!
[11:00am] Hartford: The Bushnell Park Carousel Turns 104
- Description:
- People of all ages are invited to the 104th birthday party for the historic Bushnell Park Carousel featuring family entertainment, birthday cake, and free rides all day. The event will take place on Saturday, August 25th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carousel’s pavilion in Downtown Hartford’s Bushnell Park. Activities will include face-painting, music, carving and painting demonstrations, miniature train rides around Bushnell Park, magicians, balloon twisters, and costumed characters to entertain visitors.
Stop by to take a celebratory ride and stay to enjoy the wonderful, family- friendly activities. At 11 a.m., the event will kick-off with the crowd singing Happy Birthday to the Merry-Go-Round. Birthday cake will be served at 12 noon at no charge, while supplies last.
[12:00pm] Westbrook: Back to School Scavenger Hunt
- Description:
- Join us to hunt throughout the outlet center for an array of school supplies to start the year off great! Trooper Buck will be on-site offering bicycle safety tips and the day will also include face painting, glitter tattoos and a balloon artist.
[3:00pm] Manchester: Silk City Arts & Music Festival
- Description:
- A community event with live orginal music, artists, makers, craft beer, food, games, kids activities and more. Plenty of free parking near the festival at Purnell Place, just follow the signs along Main Street in downtown Manchester. Rain or shine.
Performing on our main stage are Mandala, MARMO, New Year's Revolution, Podunk Throwbacks, and returning favorite Olive Tiger. Additionally, the acoustic acts on our 2nd stage include Lisa Lawrence, Connecticut Guitar Society, Bonnie Jacobson, Alex Nordlund, 41 Prospect, and Matt Falkowski.

- Description:
- During Symphonic Soundtrack listen to music from pop stars, shows, and movies, performed by the Middletown Symphonic Band.
