  Hartford: Puerto Rican Parade and Festival
Description:
Celebrate with the Connecticut Institute for Community Development - Puerto Rican Parade and Hartford's Puerto Rican community our traditions, values and culture during the 2018 Puerto Rican Parade & Festival del Coquí. The celebration begins with the Puerto Rican Flag Raising at City Hall and at the State Capitol on Friday June 1 and continues with a myriad of small events and activities culminating with the Puerto Rican Parade and Festival del Coquí on Saturday, June 2. [All day event] Statewide: Connecticut Trails Day
Description:
For a state small in geography, Connecticut always goes big when it comes to public land use and outdoor recreation. The Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA), organizers of the annual Connecticut Trails Day celebration, the largest of its kind in the nation. Showing support by getting outside and having some fun is a relatively easy challenge with over 200 free, guided activities happening in towns across the state. Events are hosted by volunteer groups and individuals and include hiking, biking, horseback riding, running, trail maintenance, kayaking, educational walks, bird watching, letterboxing, and more for people of all ages and interests. A full listing of all events, organized by town, activity and interest, can be found online at www.ctwoodlands.org/TD2018DIR or in the Connecticut Trails Day booklet available at town/city halls, nature centers, state parks, outdoor retailers, public libraries, and at CFPA’s headquarters located at 16 Meriden Road (Route 66) in the Rockfall section of Middlefield.

Description:
Spring Outdoors runs from the Spring Equinox on March 20 until the Summer Solstice on June 21. This program connects you to lands, waters, and trails in The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor, including some properties not normally accessible to the public. Enjoy interesting features and stories during Spring Outdoors, which is like the Walktober program, but is held as nature springs forth in The Last Green Valley. All the walks, bike rides, paddles, tours, events and more will be listed on our website's Spring Outdoors page and on our facebook page.

Description:
Bring the kids to Home Depot to complete a free wood craft project. Scheduled projects: April 7 - Window Birdhouse May 5 - Windmill Planter June 2 - Classic Car July 7 - Fishing Game August 4 - Bookworm Bookends September 1 - Field Goal Game October 5 - Fireboat November 3 - Helicopter November 24 - Gingerbread Man Ornament December 1 - Sled with Reindeer January 5 - Easel with Whiteboard All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.

Description:
Join us every Friday and Saturday for a mini-maker project from our MakerLab! Every month we will feature a quick project or new piece of equipment to mess around with. The results may have you leaving with something to physically take home OR just the satisfaction that you were able to create a circuit, power on an Arduino or thread a sewing machine. The projects are easy, meant for all ages and 100% drop-in. It is just up to you to find out which floor we are featuring the project on and drop on by. Registration for this table is not required – just come ready to tinker, play and create!

General admission is FREE on the first Saturday of every month! Come participate in our studio art project from 11 AM - 1 PM and visit exhibitions throughout the Museum.
