Description:
Hone your powers of observation in our hands-on workshop. Just like an above-water viewfinder or historical trench optical instrument, you and your child can construct a periscope to expand your view. Once the periscope is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.


[10:00am] Branford: Mini-Maker Table
Description:
Join us every Friday and Saturday for a mini-maker project from our MakerLab! Every month we will feature a quick project or new piece of equipment to mess around with. The results may have you leaving with something to physically take home OR just the satisfaction that you were able to create a circuit, power on an Arduino or thread a sewing machine. The projects are easy, meant for all ages and 100% drop-in. It is just up to you to find out which floor we are featuring the project on and drop on by. Registration for this table is not required just come ready to tinker, play and create!

[10:00am] Plymouth: Maple Festival
Description:
Tree tapping begins at 10 a.m. Kids will get a chance to tap in the spouts, hang the buckets, and collect sap. Watch maple syrup boiling on an outdoor fire. Sample sugar on snow and maple sugar candy. Maple baked beans and maple ham can be purchased in the Plymouth Congregational Church while listening to the fiddling of Down Home Frolic. There will be crafts for kids at the Plymouth Library (692 Main Street), a short walk from the Green. There will also be horse drawn hay rides from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Join us at 10:15 am for stories, songs and more with Miss Cathy. Stay for free play with a special set of toys in the Stepney Room. For babies, toddlers and preschoolers with an adult. Registration not required.

Description:
Parade features more than 80 marching units from the tri-state area. A celebration of Irish history and culture, the parade continues to be enjoyed by individuals and families alike.







[3:00pm] Middletown: Children's Concert and Musical Petting Zoo
Description:
Children and families can learn about all the instruments of the orchestra and how they work together in a fun interactive musical exploration. The hour-long dinosaur-themed performance by the Wesleyan University Orchestra, under the direction of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Nadya Potemkina, is followed by a multi-station musical instrument petting zoo, a great experience for all ages. Early arrival recommended.
