[9:00am] Home Depot Stores: Kids Workshop
Score points with your loved ones and build a Valentine bean bag toss in this hands-on workshop. You and your child can construct a fun bean bag toss game for the whole family to love. Following the bean bag toss game board construction, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin.

[10:00am] Branford: Mini-Maker Table
Join us every Friday and Saturday for a mini-maker project from our MakerLab! Every month we will feature a quick project or new piece of equipment to mess around with. The results may have you leaving with something to physically take home OR just the satisfaction that you were able to create a circuit, power on an Arduino or thread a sewing machine. The projects are easy, meant for all ages and 100% drop-in. It is just up to you to find out which floor we are featuring the project on and drop on by. Registration for this table is not required – just come ready to tinker, play and create!

[10:00am] Hartford: Valentines for Kids
Instead of buying your Valentine’s Day cards this year, come to CHS on Free First Saturday to create old-fashioned, hand-made Valentines! Get inspired by Valentines from long ago, then use your creativity to make Valentine cards to give to your friends and family. All supplies will be provided, but families may also bring their own supplies. This drop-in program is free and open to the public, and great for all ages. [10:00am] Torrington: No Child Left Inside Winter Festival
Come join us Saturday February 3rd 2018 for the 12th Annual Winter Festival held at Burr Pond State Park. The event is FREE and Kid Friendly. No registration is required so come on by between 10 am and 3 pm for a day of fun activities. Officer Flockhart and K9 Ellie will be on hand for a meet and greet. Other activities include ice fishing, fish fry, ice safety, search and rescue dogs, bonfire, marshmallow roasting, snowshoeing, winter games, ice sculptures, winter hikes and more.

[11:00am] Litchfield: Cut It Out - History of Ice Harvesting
Ice harvested from Bantam Lake was used for refrigeration throughout the year. Begin at the museum with a visit to the Ice House display, then head outdoors for a walk down the Lake Trail to visit the old ice house ruins. The program culminates with our own “Cut-Ups” Jeff Greenwood, James Fischer, and Gerri Griswold demonstrating how ice was cut and moved using the same tools and methods. Dress for the weather. We will be walking and standing on Ongley Pond for extended periods of time. Wear warm boots and prepare for wind and sun. Hot beverages and treats will be provided to fortify you.

During The Baroque: Gold and Gilded, Family Day activities include arts & crafts and a child-friendly gallery tour. Ages 4-10. At 1 pm and 2:30 pm. Pre-register children.

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra Family Series comes to the Noah Webster House. This special event featurs HSO musicians in an immersive presentation for families, featuring performances by the HSO and an Instrument Petting Zoo. The Instrument Petting Zoo is a musical laboratory that gives children the opportunity to see, hear, touch and play.
