[10:00am] Branford: Mini-Maker Table
Join us every Friday and Saturday for a mini-maker project from our MakerLab! Every month we will feature a quick project or new piece of equipment to mess around with. The results may have you leaving with something to physically take home OR just the satisfaction that you were able to create a circuit, power on an Arduino or thread a sewing machine. The projects are easy, meant for all ages and 100% drop-in. It is just up to you to find out which floor we are featuring the project on and drop on by. Registration for this table is not required – just come ready to tinker, play and create!

[10:00am] Hartford: Join the Circus
For one day only, join us for an extraordinary experience as we invite kids and their families to join the circus for the day! Choose a funny costume, then try out different circus acts like juggling, balancing, plate spinning, and more! Perform fantastic feats and astounding acts that will amaze and mystify your family! And when the big show is over, create a kooky cut-out sign to take home. This program is presented in conjunction with our exhibit That’s Weird. This drop-in program is free and open to the public, and great for children ages 4 and up. For more information, please contact Corinne Swanson at (860) 236-5621 x222 or email corinne_swanson@chs.org. Thanks to Berkshire Bank for their support of this program.

[10:00am] Litchfield: Bird Count
For children ages 7-16 years old. Join us for the longest-running citizen science project in history, the Audubon Christmas Bird Count. This bird survey is held around the world between the second weekend in December and the third weekend in January every year. This year, we’ll be holding a special CBC 4 Kids event. There will be pizza and hot cocoa afterwards for all the participants. Bring your own binoculars if you have them, but if not, pairs will be provided. Dress for the weather. This event will be run by LHAS Junior Audubon Leader Donna Rose Smith and White Memorial Education Director Carrie Szwed, but additional adult mentors are needed to help the teams of young people out in the field, so parents, please plan on staying.

[10:00am] Wethersfield: Scavenger Hunt
Drop-in any Saturday of the month to complete a fun scavenger hunt around the library. Each month will feature a new theme. January’s Theme: Animal Tracks
