Description:
The opening of the rink officially kicks off the holiday season in Hartford, so come and celebrate. Skate, catch a play or a concert, be amazed by art, enjoy a great meal and so much more. Other activities include free ice skating, free photos with Santa in his workshop at the Bushnell Park Carousel from noon-3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays beginning December 2 through December 23, learn to skate lesson on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., and $1 carousel rides on the historic Bushnell Park Carousel on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.



[1:00pm] Danielson: Winter Stroll, Bike, or Scoot Along
Description:
Parking and access area at the commuter lot across from St. James School on Route 12 in Danielson. From there, enjoy a family walk, ride, or scooter adventure along the Killingly River Trail and enjoy the crisp December air. Explore what lives and grows along the river trail in almost winter. Children must be accompanied by an adult and helmets are required for anyone riding a bide or using a scooter.

[1:00pm] Manchester: Santa's Workshop
Description:
Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, elves making toys, set in a log cabin with decorations and music, and a fire in the great stone fireplace.







[5:00pm] Cos Cob: Bush-Holley House by Candlelight
Description:
Join us for a festive holiday evening when—only once a year—costumed interpreters lead “candlelight” tours through Bush-Holley House, Greenwich’s only Registered National Historic Landmark. In addition to your family-friendly walk through Bush-Holley House, there will be live music, hot chocolate, seasonal treats from Sweet Lisa’s, winter-themed crafts for kids and a special appearance by Santa Claus from 5:30–6:30 pm. Tours are about 45 minutes long and focus on Christmas traditions as celebrated by the Bush family in the early nation period and later by the Holley family, who were residents in the early 1900s during the Cos Cob art colony era.

[5:00pm] Meriden: Festival of Silver Lights
Description:
Illumination of more than 350,000 twinkling, white lights. There are over 200 figures and buildings that are decorated with the lights in this spectacular display.
